Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, driven VP of Sales to rapidly scale adoption of our HELIX robotic rover systems across mine sites and mine service companies globally. This is a strategic, hands-on sales role focused on converting inbound leads, developing new business, nurturing client relationships, and translating technical capabilities into operational value for our mining customers.
With significant market demand from the mining industry in South America (Chile, Peru, Brazil), candidates with experience establishing and converting international sales opportunities will have a distinct advantage.
The ideal candidate brings a strong track record in industrial or mining equipment sales, a technical background (engineering, geotechnical, instrumentation, or robotics), and the ability to engage deeply with both field engineers and executive decision-makers. He or she should be excited about cutting-edge robotic technologies and be able to present the Copperstone story in a compelling way to prospects who are seeking cutting-edge solutions to significant pain points.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead all sales activities for the HELIX rover product line, targeting mining companies, tailings operators, and mine service contractors within geographic regions.
- Build and manage outbound sales activities including prospecting, outreach campaigns, and lead generation programs to expand market presence.
- Develop and execute a regional go-to-market strategy for mining applications.
- Build and manage a pipeline of qualified leads, from initial contact to closed contract.
- Translate complex technical features into clear customer value propositions and ROI, demonstrating in a compelling and exciting way and show how our HELIX robots will solve their most challenging problems.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to ensure solutions meet customer requirements.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer demonstrations.
- Manage the full sales cycle including proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract negotiation.
- Provide feedback to product development on market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
- Track metrics and deliver sales forecasts and performance reports to leadership.
Qualifications
- 20+ years of sales experience in mining, geotechnical, instrumentation, or industrial automation sectors.
- Proven success selling capital equipment, instrumentation, or robotic systems into industrial or mining environments.
- Strong technical background – ideally in engineering, geology, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Deep understanding of mine operations, tailings management, surveying and monitoring systems.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical solutions to both engineering and executive audiences in a compelling, exciting way
- Self-starter with the ability to manage a complex, long sales cycle and remote client base.
Bonus Qualification
- Experience introducing innovative or emerging technologies into conservative industrial markets.
- Established network within mine operators, consultants, and service providers in North or South America. Additional language skills in Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset.
- Familiarity with autonomous vehicles, surveying systems, or geotechnical instrumentation.
