Job Description

Copperstone is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to build and manage purchasing and procurement processes, vendor relationships, and support manufacturing efficiency. The Supply Chain Manager will report to the Chief Engineer and work closely with the financial and sales team to ensure the manufacturing technicians have the parts and supplies required to build HELIX robots. Our engineering team will provide designs for manufacturing, and the Supply Chain Manager will work with the Chief Engineer to set a production and purchasing schedule to ensure timely delivery of high quality robots.

The Supply Chain Manager needs to be well organized, have practical knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes, and able to rapidly implement new procedures. The ideal candidate has strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, can perform in a dynamic environment and is able to work independently while supporting the team. The candidate will gain a thorough understanding of the components that make up a HELIX robot and be an integral part of the manufacturing and production team.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Build and maintain vendor relationships
  • Negotiate vendor pricing to reduce cost
  • Develop and manage procurement and purchasing processes
  • Set preferred vendors to maximize savings with bundled pricing
  • Track inventory and restock goods when needed
  • Manage inventory to ensure production schedules can be met, maintain accurate purchase and pricing records
  • Ensure purchased goods are arriving on time and with high quality
  • Find ways to improve procurement and purchasing efficiency
  • Organization of the manufacturing bill of materials as required to be used for the purpose of procurement and purchasing
  • Purchase goods or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of Copperstone
  • Maintain and update supplier information such as delivery times, product ranges, etc.


  • Background in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience with and general knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning system
  • Practical knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, problem solve, and meet deadlines
  • Analytical abilities for procurement needs assessment, cost savings identification, and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment with competing priorities
  • Experience with vendor negotiations and contracting
  • Experience with machine shop vendors and common materials (stainless steel, aluminum)
  • Experience with mechanical or electrical engineering drawings is an asset

  • Second languages are always an asset

Salary and Benefits

Expected salary range $60k – 82k/year.
